The first two images are of old barns telling their stories in a quiet but strong way. The third is Dr. Moore’s office on the Walnut Grove Plantation site, an historic preserved plantation.

Country Light
Dead weeds in font of an old barn becomes magical in the right light.
Patterns and Geometrics
We were driving around and I found this corner of a parking deck with its basic geometric patterns softened by the curves of the railings, The soft, subtle colors of the aging concrete highlighted by the lights adds to the impact of the images.
Morning in the Bergamo Plaza
The other day Alice and wandered around on the Bergamo Plaza in downtown Greenville, SC. The 9:30 AM light was perfect and the plaza was at its best.
The Old Homestead Barn
Al and I did one of our wanders last Friday and found an old barn out in rural South Carolina which is about to be torn down. If you want to see this type of scene, you need to do it soon.

Downtown and on to Duncan
A few weeks ago my buddy Al and I rode around and in Grenville we saw the crane and flag. then we went to Duncan to check out the main drag, not necessarily pretty but definitely interesting to me.
Mill Windows
Mill windows are interesting for their patterns and when textured express the colors and shapes of the outside while blurring the details. The color bands seen against the sharp outlines of the panes makes for an interesting contrast.
These images were made in Greenville Center for Creative Arts in Greenville, SC (https://www.artcentergreenville.org). The Center houses artists’ studios, gallery space and an Art School. Go visit.
The Old House and Bud’s
Why do I return to places like the old house ? When I turn on my computer I look for images that still appeal to me and the old house and Bud’s Village Shop just keep calling, so here they are. I think that black and white serves to bring out the shapes and textures as well as being a bit more intense. In this set, color, while pleasing, is a distraction for me.
Rainy Day Wall
This wall is an ideal location for rainy day shooting. The relatively subtle colors and textures seem to be strengthened by the wetness. The shapes of the doors and windows are also interesting for thier patterns.
Museum of International Folk Art
Back to New Mexico to the Museum off International Folk Art (http://www.moifa.org), a place where days can be spent studying the world(s) of folk art. The building and the art is inspirational. There will probably be more images to come
Chimayo 2
The rest of the little town is visually rich and colorful.
Cerrillos, NM
Cerrillos is a “ghost town” but is surprisingly active with functioning business and galleries. It is more than worth a visit. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Cerrillos,_New_Mexico)
Glorieta, NM
Glorieta ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glorieta,_New_Mexico ) is one of those small but intense gems that can be found in many places but the ones I have found in New Mexico intrigue me the most. The buildings with their earth tones and the blue skies as well as the kind of remoteness all add up to something special.
Pecos Mission Cathedral and Surroundings
The original mission church was quite large and even what remains is impressive as is the surrounding old building sites and landscape.
