Yesterday we went to a friend’s farm to view the eclipse with family and friends. A great time was had by all.
There are many places to seen in the Greenville, SC area such as Table Rock State Park (http://www.southcarolinaparks.com/tablerock/introduction.aspx), I am intrigued by the trees and brush along the shore and the reflections in the lake.
Craggy Gardens is one of our premier destinations on the Blue Ridge Parkway. At the right time of year the rhododendrons are awesome but we were a tad late. I love the gnarled trees along the trail.
The Blue Ridge is beautiful and yields many images. These were taken at the Pisgah Inn where we stayed overnight. If you have not visited the Blue Ridge via the Parkway you must.
Al and I were riding out in the country near Newberry, SC. The countryside is amazing in the fall with perfect light and great color.A bonus was when the engineer stopped to chat with us.
Another gem in the neighborhood is lake Conestee Nature Park, http://lakeconesteenaturepark.com/. It is part of a larger recreation project with ball fields , etc. The lake itself is surrounded by a swampy forest. Hiking and bird watching are two great attractions, not to mention photography.
The ubiquitous kudzu vine is a living fixture int the South of the USA and threatens to to engulf us all but is very attractive in an odd sort of way. I enjoy the forms it takes as it covers trees, etc and it provides a neat backdrop for runners.
Here are some things where I respond to the light as much as the subjects illuminated.
Here we are again, out in the country and i catch it while I can, before it disappears.
