A camera at the ready lets me shoot through the windshield where I caught the rhythm of the trees and the touch of red on the mailbox.

Truchas, NM
Truchas, NM is a left tun off the road to Taos and is worth a stop for its rustic beauty, quietness and an active arts community. The small detour is well worth it for the beauty of the area. .
An Old Home Place
A few days ago Alice and I found an old house but I forgot to put a memory card in my camera but the light was lousy, so nothing lost. The second time I was more careful and here are some of the images. The old home and surrounding property is magical.
There were more things to see but they are for next time.
Bandelier National Monument , NM
Bandelier (https://www.nps.gov/band/index.htm) is one of my three or four top places to visit in New Mexico as it is rich with history, beauty and a sense of place. Put it on your list for a first or tenth visit.
Cerrillos, NM
Cerrillos is a “ghost town” but is  surprisingly active with functioning business and galleries. It is more than worth a visit. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Cerrillos,_New_Mexico)
Glorieta, NM
Glorieta ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glorieta,_New_Mexico ) is one of those small but intense gems that can be found in many places but the ones I have found in New Mexico intrigue me the most. The buildings with their earth tones and the blue skies as well as the kind of remoteness all add up to something special.
Pecos Mission Cathedral and Surroundings
The original mission church was quite large and even what remains is impressive as is the surrounding old building sites and landscape.

Cataloochee Guest Ranch
Cataloochee Guest Ranch (https://www.cataloocheeranch.com) is a great place to go to relax, hike, ride horses and eat great food. The next few blogs will be from a visit there.
More Hill Top Orchard
Biltmore Grounds
The house and gardens are great but so are the surrounding working farm and forest areas.
Out in the Country, Again
Al and I drove around out in the country and found this great old, small house in a field. These are getting fewer and further between. Photographing or painting them may be the only way to preserve them.
