I pass Gilreath’s Mill a lot in traveling around my area and it is another magical place for me. Here is an historical link, http://www.nationalregister.sc.gov/greenville/S10817723009/.
I generally do not shoot rivers and waterfalls but I am finding some in my files, so I must have been there.
I love going out to photograph in the fog. The quiet is magical and the muting of the colors and the more distant shapes is beautiful.
The colors, verticals against horizontals and layering are what I saw when I shot the first image and the delicacy of the weeds and water surface of the second appealed to me.
Al and I rode around the countryside a few weeks ago and found an old barn and a store along with some neat shadows.
The late fall landscape is beautiful with its tracery of trees, warm tones shadows.
The Astucou Azalea Garden (http://www.acadiamagic.com/asticou-garden.html), near Bar Harbor, Maine is a great spot, even when the azaleas are not in bloom. The layout and fall colors work so well together.
