The other day Alice and wandered around on the Bergamo Plaza in downtown Greenville, SC. The 9:30 AM light was perfect and the plaza was at its best.
Mill windows are interesting for their patterns and when textured express the colors and shapes of the outside while blurring the details. The color bands seen against the sharp outlines of the panes makes for an interesting contrast.
These images were made in Greenville Center for Creative Arts in Greenville, SC (https://www.artcentergreenville.org). The Center houses artists’ studios, gallery space and an Art School. Go visit.
Al and I found more old, industrial magic in West Greenville from what probably was an abandoned mill site. The blend of old timey industrial engineering, sculptural appearance and aging as well as the shadow are hard not to love.
