The first photo is the building with the ghost pictures and the second is one of the more successful signs.

Around Town
Al and I did a wander in Greenville a few weeks ago and this is some of what I saw. The first image is a story for me of a little house set in front of an old mill being repurposed I love the structures and patterns. The second is full of shape and pattern and a sort of tan monochrome. The sewer grate with dead sticks and leaves has lots to look at and think about. The last picture is delightfully (for me) a bit hard to decipher.

We’re Here
Downtown Mackinac is a bit like Cape May, NJ with Victorian homes, lots of small stores but with one difference, Mackinac has no cars, just numerous bicycles, all in use. Fudge appears to be the one of the largest industries in town with numerous suppliers. It makes for great window shopping. All in all the homes, flowers and absence of motor traffic makes for a great visit.
Grand Hotel
One of Mackinac’s great sights is the Grand Hotel, a truly great hotel in the tradition of grand hotels built by railroad magnates to enhance passenger travel. To learn more check out this link http://www.grandhotel.com/aboutgrandhotel/our-story/. It is a great place to stay or at least wander around at.
On to the Boat
Bidding Chi good-bye, we got on the tender out to the cruise boat, Saint Laurent while on the way out I got some building px, a large bumper, and some building photos.
I wandered around the boat to shoot some detail shots and a shot through our cabin window, including Alice’s identification hat and the lily in the lounge.
We set sail in the evening.
More Millennium Park
Millennium Park
Our group took a foot tour to and through Millennium Park. The skyscrapers around the park are typical of Chicago’s newer buildings. The row of blue bikes has a good rhythm and movement and I am partial to blue. Anish Kapoor’s sculpture, Cloud Gate aka The Bean is one of the first things one sees entering the park and is a visual joy for its shape and reflections. Crown Fountain by Jaume Plensa with the spitting boy changes pictures on a regular schedule and is the perfect recreational site on a hot day.
Time Travel
We are home and blogging will take me back in time to our Great Lakes Cruise. The lakes are amazingly huge and the stops on the trip were visually rich. I will start the time travel in Chicago, one of my favorite cities. The “tourists” stayed at the Palmer House in Chicago notable mainly to me for its architecture, a paean to Greek mythology as ordered by Mrs. Palmer. Enough chatter, let’s get on to some pictures.
