There are areas inside the Union SC Courthouse that are as magnificent as the outside.
Craggy Gardens is one of our premier destinations on the Blue Ridge Parkway. At the right time of year the rhododendrons are awesome but we were a tad late. I love the gnarled trees along the trail.
It is always fun for me to meet Alice’s weaving compatriots. This time they they were hosted by The Yadkin Valley Fiber Room/Yadkin Cultural Arts Center, Yadkinville, NC. The meeting and the town were great for photographs and I met some neat people. My first post is of the weavers in a class taught by Lesley Killeen. I missed the other two lectures, one by Alice and the other by Su Butler. But I went for the photographic opportunities. The Cultural Arts Center is a great addition to the town. The surrounding area is becoming known for its wineries, therefore the last image. There will be more to follow.
We have a local notions store that has the most amazing collection of stuff, all of which appeals to me photographically. Variety, etc. is almost surreal.
Last week Al and I rode around and found Beechwood Farms. It is intriguing during the fallow time with bare trees and resting fields. The black and white image has an interesting feel to it and the color has delicious winter colors.
Today I returned to my Republic Locomotive files and enjoyed looking at the px for this blog. The colors, vistas, planes and shadows all caught my eye and I cannot risist the occasional shadow selfie.
There is no such thing as a boring street wander.
When I wander around any downtown, I look for things That move me in some unexplainable way and in some cases rework the original image.
There is something about cities and maybe especially smaller cities that I find fascinating with a sort of dark mystery and painterly atmosphere.
