Most of us hope to have a vacation trip with clear weather and bright sun. In fact, for me, fog and rain make for images that are atmospheric and mysterious.

Lobstering
Among the many reasons to go to Maine is the lobster and its catchers, a perfect combination of people, work, boats and eating.
The Kenilworth Hotel
Should you find yourself going to Kenilworth, NJ the Kenilworth Hotel is a good place to stay. The plantings at the door invit one in and the rooms are large and well-appointed.
Trip to Alice’s High School Reunion
We went to Kenilworth, NJ for Alice’s high school reunion. I thought the visuals of the trip ere really interesting. The first three are from Newark Airport and the last three are from the hotel at which we stayed.
The Tree Project
In 2916 I went to the Complex Weavers’s meeting in St. Charles, Ill. There is a really neat park in St. Charles where I collected some trees which fit into my trees project.
Vintage Inn B&B
This is the B&B where we stayed in Yadkinville and it was perfect.
Complex Weavers South East Gathering
It is always fun for me to meet Alice’s weaving compatriots. This time they they were hosted by The Yadkin Valley Fiber Room/Yadkin Cultural Arts Center, Yadkinville, NC. The meeting and the town were great for photographs and I met some neat people. My first post is of the weavers in a class taught by Lesley Killeen. I missed the other two lectures, one by Alice and the other by Su Butler. But I went for the photographic opportunities. The Cultural Arts Center is a great addition to the town. The surrounding area is becoming known for its wineries, therefore the last image. There will be more to follow.
More Old Guys
Here are more pictures of the old distilleries and their surroundings.
Downtown
When I wander around any downtown, I look for things That move me in some unexplainable way and in some cases rework the original image.
Almost at the End of the Bourbon Trail
There will be a few more posts of the Bourbon Trail and Frankfort, so I will have to start photographing again.
Night in Frankfort, II
There is something about cities and maybe especially smaller cities that I find fascinating with a sort of dark mystery and painterly atmosphere.
A night in Frankfort, KY
Maker’s Mark Again
I think the Maker’s Mark Bus windows match up nicely with the tasting room and the Chihuly glass one one of the ceilings is awesome.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Final (Maybe) Look at Buffalo Trace
Before I leave BT I thought I would share a bit more of the architecture which is so totally honest and impressive.
The Woolery, Frankfort, Kentucky
Along with the bourbon distilleries in and around Frankfort we visited The Woolery, a great shop for spinners, knitters, weavers and photographers. Al,I and our wives thoroughly enjoyed it. You might check out my wife Alice’s website, http://weaverly.typepad.com/. She and Al’s wife Ellen had a blast. Here is the link to it, http://woolery.com/about-us.
Inside Buffalo Trace Distillery
Here are some of the pictures inside the distillery, fragrant, tasty and fun.
Buffalo Trace Distillery
I suspect that every bourbon lover has a favorite bourbon and my favorite is from one of the oldest distillers. Buffalo Trace. To get the history of Buffalo Trace check out this link, https://www.buffalotracedistillery.com/unmatched-history. This is a great place to visit.
The Bourbon Trail
We did the “Bourbon Trail” in Kentucky and here is the beginning; prep the camera bag, road dining, rest stop tree and a shiny trailer on the road, all of which is a good start.
