This is one our favorite places to photograph. It is on National Register of Historic Places and is the only extant, complete roller mill of its type remaining in SC.

Tuxedo Relic
Yesterday, Al and I went driving around and found ourselves in Tuxedo, NC, which has some great stuff to look at, like Staton’s Grocery. Country stores like this probably will not be around much longer and short of buying them, I can only save them photographically.
Why These ?
Colors, shapes and textures sometimes combine in wonderful ways for me and here are a few examples. The corrugated metal wall has great color, a suggestion of an American flag and interesting texture. The second photograph is a kind of stark image of color and composition, simple but elegant. The third is about color and texture. The lettering provides some shadow formation.
Old Industrial Buildings
I am still sifting through old files and am enjoying the memories of trips to California. The old buildings alongside railroads have a unique beauty because of their simplicity and texture.
