After tramping in the snow, I go inside and play.
When the summer gets hot and humid, I like to go back to my snow pictures to keep me cool.
For some of us, snow is seasonally unique and we cannot take our eyes from it. I know folks who had enough snow growing up and they could live without it.The first image is the most successful of my flash tries and the rest are from the backyard or deck.
Well, last night we had our first real snow in quite a white and it is beautiful. The first photo was an experiment using my new flash and it turned out sort of interesting. The rest are yard px. I love the way snow silences the air and softens the outlines of things. It is great around here until going out for something means hitting the road.
As it starts to warm up I like to remind myself of winter because it gives me two chances to rejoice, the first, winter is over, the second, when I look at this blog in the middle of the summer heat, it cools me off.
When snow is not overwhelming, it is fun to photograph with its textures, smoothed contours and the ability to record footsteps and other marks.
