The ubiquitous kudzu vine is a living fixture int the South of the USA and threatens to to engulf us all but is very attractive in an odd sort of way. I enjoy the forms it takes as it covers trees, etc and it provides a neat backdrop for runners.

Three Portraits
I am beginning to think all photographs are portraits. I get the sense that I pick a subject like flowers, buildings, landscapes or people and try to distill my feelings about the subject and capture that feeling.
Penland, Teacher and Students
Here is Alice showing a color blanket to some of the students, and a visitor/observer , a legend in fiber, Edwina Bringle (https://craftcouncil.org/post/edwina-bringles-50-years-textiles).
Street Celebration
Street celebrations are always colorful and fun to attend.
The Local Notions Store
We have a local notions store that has the most amazing collection of stuff, all of which appeals to me photographically. Variety, etc. is almost surreal.
Silhouettes and Shadows
The Cabin Life
The gentleman that owns the Sign Barn in Pickens, SC built/restored an example of a time gone by in our part of the country and I think he did a great job. He uses the cabin as a place to sort of unwind.
I Miss NYC
Here is one of my favorite places which closed in 2016 but apparently lives on as a web based mail order deli.
Yard Wandering
I was wandering in my yard and saw colors that worked for me.
The Home Place
This old house and it’s outbuilding is why Al and I ride for hours out in the country. For me this image set represents a way of life which is mostly gone with only ghosts remaining.
Downtown Shadows and Reflections
Downtown Greenville is a great place to wander with its shadows and reflections.
West Greenville Mural
There is a new grocery store in West Greenville with a great mural on the wall which I will visit many times because it is so rich.
Biltmore Estate
Here are a few views of the conservatory at the Bilttmore Estate. These remind me of oldr styles of photography which I hope I am honoring.
Biltmore Estate Conservatory
A great place to visit and photograph.
Downtown
Another Day Shooting
Yesterday we rode around and found a few old barns and an old mill which we photographed before they disappear.
Trees
I enjoy the winter view of trees with the tracery against the sky or againstĀ the smaller trees in a small forest patch.
Three Recents
The first two images are from a wander with Al. The horse and sheep are fun to look at. The pine cone and needles seems to me to be an interesting subject which is challenging to get just so and I am not sure I got it. The leaf on the forest floor is from a wander I took with Alice so as to escape staring at my monitor all day.
Roadside Tangle
When we ride around I see all sorts of things like old buildings covered by kudzu, interesting especially in winter when the leaves are gone and there is only a tangle of vines. The old garageĀ is across the street from a stream which is also uncovered by loss of kudzu leaves.
The Old Farm
Old farms always have echoes of the past and presentiments of the future which is part of what makes them so interesting to photograph.
