Last weekend our younger son, Erik, wanted to see a photographic exhibit by William A. Barnhill of images taken in Western, NC between 1914-1917 of local craftsmen. There was the weekly Sunday informal concert which we happened on at the museum and a good look and listen was had by all.

The Road to the Cloisters

One of my favorite day trips in NYC is made by taking theM4 which winds around from the east side across to the west side, up Broadway to the Cloisters. For the price of a bus ticket you get to see NYC’s most interesting areas. I have tried to capture some of the experience starting with waiting for the bus and ending with arrival¬† at the Cloisters.

A Change of Place

Now we are in the mountains of NC at Black Mountain. Somehow, the weather is still hot and muggy and the totaL feel of the place is different. Our motel room is compact and a bit warm, AC going full tilt. The restaurant we ate at was great with some cool shadows and a Hopperesque visual feel, though not at all depressing in spirit.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
