Rhododendrons and Mountain Laurel, Blue Ridge Parkway

Yesterday Alice and I drove our part of the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina and stopped at the Folk Art Center where I photographed some mountain laurel and rhododendron, two of my favorites. The pictures of both are similar but from different viewpoints. I like the second mountain laurel image, as the yellow leaf adds a pleasing accent and the green leaf group in the second rhodo photo does the same. Just for info, the shots where made with a Fuji 50-140mm F2.8 zoom, one of the best lenses I have ever used.Mountain Laurel, Folk Art Center, NC-55 Mountain Laurel, Folk Art Center, NC-58 untitled shoot-007-4 untitled shoot-014-3

Neighborhood Spring

I try to ride my trike everyday, preferably in the morning and I keep an eye on the spring flowers. I am taken by the magnolias, mountain laurel and what is probably Henryi Clematis. These various flowers are good closeup challenges and when they are caught just right “lookers’.untitled shoot-027 untitled shoot-055 untitled shoot-046untitled shoot-068 untitled shoot-087untitled shoot-077
